Banyards Champions Sustainability at Three Chamberlain Square

We at Banyards are pleased to announce our engagement for the Commissioning Management of the remarkable Three Chamberlain Square project in Birmingham. This project represents our second collaboration with Sir Robert McAlpine in the city, following our successful partnership on the One Centenary Way development for the client Hermes.

Three Chamberlain Square: A Sustainable Landmark in Birmingham

Set against the backdrop of Birmingham’s iconic landmarks, Three Chamberlain Square is poised to become a beacon of sustainability and innovation in the city’s commercial landscape. The ten-storey building will offer 185,000 sq ft of premium office and retail space, with an emphasis on creating an environment that seamlessly integrates work and leisure.

Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the building will feature extensive natural light and ventilation, all-electric power and heating, and an impressive 200 bike spaces complete with changing facilities. The vision for Three Chamberlain Square aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting sustainability and well-being in the built environment.

Our Role in Shaping this Sustainable Space

Our role encompasses comprehensive Commissioning Management and extends to managing the NABERS UK rating, ensuring that Three Chamberlain Square meets and exceeds its sustainability and performance goals. Our commitment Sir Robert McAlpine is to deliver a building that not only meets the highest environmental standards but also provides a cutting-edge and adaptable workspace for its future occupants.

What is NABERS UK?

NABERS UK provides a robust and reliable system for rating the energy efficiency of office buildings. This system helps building owners understand their property’s performance in comparison to others, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and sustainability. Developed from the highly successful Australian NABERS program, NABERS UK offers precise energy performance measurements that reflect actual usage, not just design-based estimates. This ensures transparency and accountability in building performance.

At Banyards we take pride in contributing to projects that shape the future of urban landscapes, and Three Chamberlain Square is a testament to our dedication to quality and sustainability.

Key features include:

·         Sustainable Design: The building will be entirely powered and heated by electric systems, underscoring its commitment to a low-carbon footprint.

·         Cyclist-Friendly: With 200 bike spaces and comprehensive changing facilities, it encourages eco-friendly commuting.

·         Environmental Excellence: As a NABERS 5-star rated building, it sets a new standard in environmental performance and operational efficiency.

·         Innovative Workspace: Designed with an ‘inside-outside’ ethos, it boasts abundant natural light and ventilation, aligning with the evolving needs of the modern workforce.

This project is the fourth major development within the transformative £1.2 billion Paradise scheme and is expected to culminate in 2025, adding significant retail and leisure opportunities alongside its commercial offerings.
